The first Pan-Arab Urban Development Symposium gathered 150 selected guests to discuss challenges facing Arab cities.  The Symposium connected high-caliber experts, decision-makers, mayors, and leading organizations to exchange views regarding the urban challenges facing fast-changing Arab cities, and to maximize the innovation opportunities that arise from the rapid urban transformation of the region.

PAUDS solidified a common agenda on the challenges that Arab urban leaders seek to raise at World Urban Forum 2020 in Abu Dhabi. Under the theme “Sustainable Arab Cities: A Brighter Future”, PAUDS offered a platform to discusses successes and challenges of Arab cities in stimulating new patterns of urban development.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM) organized the Symposium in partnership with the Regional Office for Arab States of UN-Habitat (ROAS).
