The Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities has today signed a Partnership Agreement with telecoms service provider of the UAE, du, at an official signing ceremony at DPM Headquarters.
The agreement with du will create free wifi hotspots in eight parks across Abu Dhabi, including Family Park, off Corniche Road West; Khalidiyah Park, in Arabian Gulf Street; Sheikh Hazaa Mosque Park, in Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street (5th Street) and Umm Al Emarat Park,
Other parks are Abu Dhabi Corniche; Turath Park, in Corniche Road; Capital Garden and Tourist Club Park.
Standard wifi will be provided to all users free of charge or visitors can choose the premium high-speed wifi for a fee.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Mubarak Obaid Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the DPM, and Osman Sultan, CEO of du.
The agreement is perfectly aligned with the DPM’s strategic priorities to enhance customer experience and happiness by making services available and more accessible across the Emirate.

New wifi hotspots could be added in parks across Al Ain and Al Dhafra for the next phase of the project.
